The name... The name?... The newt made its final journey out of the tank after 8 years of solitary. Dehydrated and alone the amphibian trekked across 12 feet of berber to find a resting space partially under the bathroom mat. Screams of horror from the 8 year old echoed through the home as the realization that the bathtub toy was ultimately the misplaced newt. Had many days of no water taken the life of misplaced newt, or had the impact of hysteria which had the newt hurled against the bathroom wall ultimately become the final demise?

 

Brent Orenchuk is the creative director of misplaced newt. Brent has been working in the Edmonton area in the design community since 1993. Brent started his career in Edmonton while at Grant MacEwan College with a local newspaper. This was the first year that “computer graphic design” was offered. Upon graduation, he went to Great Scott! Communications where he had the opportunity of working with many of Edmonton's top designers. In 1997 Brent was given the opportunity to do the art direction for the Alberta Motor Association. After five years with AMA, he left and misplaced newt emerged.
